Introduction
The study of the geodynamics of the mid-atlantic ridge allows us to understand the processes that take place in the earth's crust, providing the means to forecast earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, etc.

A series of international initiatives focus on establishing underwater observatories in order to characterize and monitor underwater hydrothermal systems along the underwater ridges, where the grand majority of tectonic processes take place.

Particularly, one of these regions, where the scientific community is focusing its interest, is known as Lucky Strike, located along the axis of the mid-Atlantic ridge, close to the Ašores islands.
